 Дівчинка живе в своєму власному світі і зовсім не реагує на навколишнє оточення. Настя може хіба рефлекторно посміхнутися, якщо її наприклад погладити або полоскотати. Вона не вміє самостійно сідати, не кажучи вже про ходити. Дівча потребує постійної допомоги дорослих у всіх побутових справах. Великим досягненням для неї було навчитись їсти перетерту їжу з ложечки.
