|Foster family is one form of placement of children in which foster parents take up 1 to 4 orphans and children deprived of parental care for upbringing and sharing. Admitted children live in such a family until they reach the age of majority or to 23 years of age if they study in an institution of higher education.
Family-type children's home is formed and operates on the same principle with the difference that children can be accommodated from 5 to 10.
Children raised in a foster family or in a family-type home do not lose the status of an orphan child, a child deprived of parental care, and retains all the benefits provided by Ukrainian legislation. & Nbsp; Adolescent parents help maintain the contact of the child with her biological relatives ( If such communication is safe for the child), and in case of restoration of parents in parental rights, the child will be returned to the biological family.
An adopted family and a family-type orphanage is a temporary form of placement of a child, since the options for returning it to a biological family or adoption by other people (when establishing a contact) are considered.
